The South Transept Window is in urgent need of repair. The iron bar inserted to strengthen the window has corroded and it has broken the masonry as it expanded. The windows have also bowed over time. Some masonry has already broken off and several panes of glass are broken. There is a real danger that the window could collapse. These photos show where repair is needed:



The PCC has approved a proposal to repair the window and a faculty application has been approved. We are now in a period of public consultation, during which anyone can object to the proposed work. Click here to see a copy of the Public Notice
